Shoestring Cellars 1997 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
This well-balanced wine was aged in American Oak for approximately one and a half years. The wine offers flavors of ripe Alexander Valley fruit with rich chocolate and currants, smooth tannins, and a pronounced flavor of vanillin oak. Total production was 25 cases. The wine is approximately 13.5% alcohol. A great wine for everything.

Shoestring Cellars 1997 Cabernet Port
The 1997 Cabernet Port is a wine for everyone. Whether people like port or not, there is something in this for all who like wine. The Cabernet fruit is pronounced and rich. The wine has been aging in American Oak for almost two years which adds a nice taste and mouthfeel. The wine is deceptively smooth and has a chocolatey finish, without being cloying or heavy. The alcohol is approximately 22%. The worst thing about it is that we only made 45 gallons and everyone that's tried it, including my martini-reared father, wants some.

Shoestring Cellars 1997 Old Vine Zinfandel
Picked about 26 degrees brix, this one is huge. The nose is fruity with just a hint of ripe raisin. The wine is intensely extracted and has a nice counter-balancing toasty quality from spending one and a half years split between French and American Oak barrels. Bursting with flavors of raspberry zinfandel fruit, toasty oak, and an alcohol content of 16%, this wine is great for leg-of-lamb. Better yet, two legs of lamb.
